Connecting You with Resources For Energy Savings and Year-Round Comfort
1. New York state renters and homeowners may qualify for thousands of dollars in energy efficiency incentives. Central Hudson partners with NYSERDA and local Clean Energy Hubs to help connect customers with available programs, including Empower+ and Comfort Home. These programs can support upgrades like insulation, air sealing, and other improvements that help homes use less energy.
empower+
Empower+ is for income-eligible customers and covers up to 100% of some energy-efficiency project costs. Through this program, customers may receive:
- An in-home comprehensive home energy assessment to pinpoint where energy and dollars are being wasted
- A personalized upgrade plan to help you lower your energy use
- Funding toward the cost of home energy upgrades like air sealing, insulation, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and electrical service, and wiring upgrades
comfort home
New Yorkers who are not eligible for Empower+ can still receive $2,500-$4,000 in rebates for air sealing and insulation packages. An additional $2,000 may be available if you upgrade your windows to ENERGY STAR. Through this program, customers may receive:
- A no-cost consultation and in-home energy assessment
- Personalized information by a trained and qualified Comfort Home contractor
- Help with selecting the improvement package that is right for you, including any available rebates and financing options

2. Central Hudson's partnership with HomeBoost, the mid-Hudson and Ramapo library systems allows our customers to borrow a DIY energy assessment kit for free. Customers receive a free weatherization starter kit and a free personalized home energy report, courtesy of Central Hudson.
