EV Time-of-Use Rate
Central Hudson offers a special Time-of-Use Rate for electric vehicle owners. By charging your vehicle during periods of lower demand (after 7pm), and shifting the majority of your other energy use to this same time structure, you can benefit from a lower bill. EV owners are able to test whether this rates works for them with Central Hudson’s first year bill protection. Learn more
Discounts on Insurance
Major insurance companies may offer discounts for owners of electric and hybrid cars. Check with your insurance agent.
Green Pass Discount Plan: Provides 10 percent discount off of the E-ZPass rate. 

Effective February 1, 2022  the Green Discount Plan will only be issued to Plug-In Electric and Plug-In Hybrid Electric vehicles.  A list of eligible vehicles can be found on the NYSERDA Drive Clean Eligible Models webpage.

The special green tag should be mounted on the windshield of the qualified vehicle and is not eligible for use on other vehicles. To be eligible for the green discount, customers must first have an established E-ZPass account with the New York State Thruway Authority as indicated by the Thruway logo on your tag.

Proof of vehicle registration is required to receive the special 10% discount off of the E-ZPass rate. The Green Plan cannot be combined with commuter plans. Plan Code: (NY GREEN).
