Meet Mark, Environmental Manager at Central Hudson.
From supporting field operations to conservation efforts, his work helps protect the natural resources that make the Hudson Valley home.
For Mark, environmental stewardship is both a professional responsibility and a personal commitment.
As Manager of Environmental Affairs at Central Hudson, Mark supports work across the company to ensure field activities are done safely, responsibly, and in compliance with environmental regulations. Much of that work happens behind the scenes, providing technical guidance that helps protect employees, communities, and the natural resources that define the Hudson Valley.
Mark’s team plays a critical role in supporting field operations — reviewing plans, advising crews, and ensuring work meets strict regulatory standards. Beyond compliance, the group also participates in voluntary conservation efforts, including programs that support pollinators, habitat protection, and long‑term environmental health.
One of the moments Mark feels most proud of came through direct community service. Last year, his team volunteered time and provided financial support to help Cooperative Extension of Dutchess County’s Green Team build a greenhouse that supplied fresh produce to local families in need. Supporting an effort with a tangible, local impact reinforced how environmental work and community wellbeing are closely connected.
