His work helps ensure outages are managed efficiently, safely, and with clear coordination across teams until service is restored.
For Keron, the Control Center isn’t just where the work happens—it’s where the entire company connects.
Keron has spent his entire career in Central Hudson’s Control Center, and what continues to drive him is how closely Distribution Operations is tied to every part of the organization. From electric and gas operations to new business, commercial accounts, safety, and distributed energy, the Control Center touches it all. “When we’re running like a well‑oiled engine,” Keron says, “the rest of the company runs that way too.”
Much of that work happens behind the scenes—but its impact is felt everywhere. Distribution System Operations manages outages from start to finish. When a customer reports a loss of power, they’re speaking directly with the Control Center, and the same team coordinates the response, communicates with field crews, and tracks restoration until the lights are back on.
One moment that stands out for Keron came during a major storm when more than 100,000 customers were without power across the region. Working as a dispatcher in the Poughkeepsie district, Keron spent several days coordinating with line crews, engineers, and supervisors to manage restoration efforts. Through careful coordination and constant communication, the team was able to restore service efficiently and safely across the east side of the river. “That experience made me proud to work side by side with our line forces,” he says. “Everyone was focused on one thing—getting customers back on.”
Beyond the job, Keron is deeply committed to giving back. He’s actively involved in local organizations, including the Westchester Medical Center Honors Board and the Center for Child Abuse in Poughkeepsie. After losing his mother to cancer, he has dedicated significant time to supporting cancer research initiatives. In 2023, he combined that passion with his background in CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting to help raise more than $10,000 for breast cancer research.
Whether responding to outages or supporting the community he calls home, Keron approaches his work with focus and intention. It’s a mindset rooted in advice he lives by: slow down, be deliberate, and get it right—because that’s how real progress happens.
