Central Hudson Receives 2017 Business of Historical Distinction Award

The winner of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation’s fifth annual Fall Foliage Photo Contest and $250 prize is Nicole Zeko of Clinton Corners, Dutchess County, who submitted her photograph taken in Stanfordville, Town of Stanford. Of the more than 25 finalists, Zeko’s photograph received 493 votes, the most cast by Central Hudson’s Facebook followers. In total, more than 4,400 votes were cast.

“Congratulations to Nicole for her winning photograph, a beautiful scene of the Mid-Hudson Valley in its brilliant autumn colors,” said Denise D. VanBuren, Vice President of Public Relations at Central Hudson.

The contest opened on September 27, 2017, inviting Central Hudson customers to submit photographs of the region’s fall season taken within the energy company’s service area by Nov. 2. A record 180 images were submitted, and a selection of finalists was posted to Central Hudson’s Facebook page. Voters were asked to “like” their favorite of the finalists, and official voting ended at noon on Nov. 21.

“Thank you to all who participated by voting and submitting their photographs,” said VanBuren. “We were treated with an amazing selection of entries, each showing the natural beauty of our region. We offer our sincere appreciation to each contestant for sharing his or her work.”

VanBuren also reminded customers of the benefits of “liking” and “following” Central Hudson on Facebook and Twitter to receive important safety messages, energy efficiency tips, announcements on new programs and services, updates on severe weather and other helpful information.
