National Infrastructure Week Celebrates Critical Energy Systems

Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. joined energy companies across the country to support Infrastructure Week 2017, recognized May 15 – 19, as part of national efforts to raise awareness of the critical importance of sound and sufficient system investment.

“Energy infrastructure is vital to our modern world – and yet it often goes unappreciated and often even unnoticed. Infrastructure Week provides a platform to highlight the important role that energy infrastructure plays in our region’s vibrancy and its future vitality,” said Michael L. Mosher, President and C.E.O. of Central Hudson. “After all, efficiently and sustainably powering homes, businesses and critical facilities is foundational to a dependable and robust economy.”

Infrastructure Week is administered annually by We Stand For Energy, an organization that promotes a reliable, affordable and sustainable energy future. It is sponsored by the Electric Edison Institute, of which Central Hudson has been a decades-long member.

“Central Hudson is deploying record investments in our energy delivery system in order to improve its resiliency, dependability and innovation,” said Mosher. “We are strengthening our electric and natural gas systems, replacing aging infrastructure, expanding the potential for distributed renewable resources and utilizing smart technologies to improve the facilities on which our region’s future depends.”
