Central Hudson Customers: No Transaction Fees for Credit and Debit Cards

Customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation may now pay their utility bills by credit and debit cards without added transaction fees; and customers enrolled in the paperless e-Bills program may now pay bills automatically with their credit and debit cards using a new recurring payment feature. Customers using Central Hudson’s authorized walk-in centers for bill payments may now also use any form of payment without added transaction fees.

“These enhancements to our credit and debit card payment options eliminate transaction fees and offer customers who receive their bills electronically the convenience of automatic payments to their credit card accounts,” said Anthony Campagiorni, Vice President of Customer Services and Regulatory Affairs. “We’re pleased to offer these features to help make bill paying easier for our customers.”

It’s easy to set up recurring payments for customers enrolled in e-Bills. Simply log onto CenHub or My Account at www.CentralHudson.com, and from the Self-Service tab click on e-Bills Dashboard, add account information to My Wallet, turn on Auto Pay and enter your automatic payment preferences. When enrolling, customers should pay the current month’s bill manually, as the recurring feature will be activated with the following month’s bill.

Central Hudson offers many other ways customers may pay utility bills, using their credit or debit cards and checking accounts.

  • e-Bills, Central Hudson’s paperless billing option: Customers may receive, view and pay bills electronically using their checking account number or credit or debit card. Customers enrolled in e-Bills may opt to have bills paid automatically using their credit or debit card account;
  • Direct Pay, using a checking account number: Payments are automatically deducted from a checking account;
  • Pay online, using a checking account number or credit/debit card with no transaction fee: Log onto CentralHudson.com, and click on “My Account;”
  • Pay by phone, using a checking account or credit/debit card with no transaction fee.
  • Pay by text or mobile app, using a checking account number;
  • Pay in person, at a convenient, walk-in payment center, by check or credit/debit card with no transaction fee; and
  • Pay by mail, using a check or money order.

Customers may also enroll in Budget Billing, with predictable bills determined by dividing annual energy costs into even monthly payments, with the last month adjusted up or down to reflect actual usage and energy costs. Budget Billing can be combined with e-Bills and the recurring credit/debit card payment.
