Average Utility Supply Rate

The average supply charges shown below are presented for mass market service classifications to serve as a baseline against which to compare ESCO fixed-rate products pursuant to the Dec. 12, 2019 Order in Case 15-M-0127 et al. A description of mass market customers is available here. The rate codes applicable to each service classification can be found on the Electric Rate Code Map and Gas Rate Code Map, respectively.

The supply charges reflect a 12-month weighted average based on an average customer's monthly usage distribution. For time-of-use classes, it is assumed customers shift enough usage to the off-peak period to benefit from being on time-of-use versus standard rates. The electric supply charges shown consist of the Market Price Charge, Market Price Adjustment and MFC Supply Charge. The gas supply charges shown consist of the components of the Gas Supply Charge that are applicable only to full service customers, MFC Supply Charge and MFC Transition Adjustment. Bear in mind, certain components of the Gas Supply Charge are also included in the Transportation Demand Adjustment paid by customers purchasing their gas supply from an ESCO – those components have been excluded from the charges shown below.

The supply charges shown below assume that when purchasing their supply from an ESCO, mass market customers receive a consolidated bill from the Central Hudson. Therefore the average rates shown below reflect that when purchasing supply from Central Hudson customers would no longer receive the billing services credit which is assumed at one-half of the electric and gas billing services credit, as applicable.
