Central Hudson celebrates 125 video
Central Hudson sets record for community impact

To celebrate 125 years of powering the Hudson Valley, Central Hudson and our employees decided to deepen our community roots in 2025.

We set out to complete 125 acts of service and pledge $1 million to local organizations that uplift and support Hudson Valley residents. We are proud to announce we have exceeded both goals — performing 132 acts of service and contributing $1,140,916 to many wonderful causes throughout our region this year!

Central Hudson’s history is intertwined with the growth and success of the Hudson Valley. For generations, we’ve powered progress through energy, but also through ongoing community partnerships and philanthropic support. Thank you to our employees, our community partners and our customers for being part of this incredible journey. Here’s to the next 125 years of powering progress together!

Warm, safe home
Quick tips to keep your home warm and safe this winter

Change your heating system filter
Changing the air filter helps your heating system run efficiently, which saves you energy and also ensures good air quality in your home. It also extends the life of your heating system because a dirty filter makes the system work harder.

Find and seal air leaks
Dollar-for-dollar, sealing air leaks around your home's doors, windows, and anywhere else where two building materials meet is one of the best ways to save energy during the heating season. In fact, it can make your home up to 20% more energy efficient.

Keep vents clean and clear
If you have a forced-air heating system, make sure the vents are not being blocked by furniture, curtains, or anything else. Obstructions make your furnace work harder, cutting down on efficiency and the system's lifespan.

Have your chimney and heating system inspected
Have a professional ensure your heating and ventilation systems are functioning safely and efficiently.

Budget Billing
Budget Billing helps provide energy cost consistency

Heating and cooling are by far the biggest drivers of home energy usage. Central Hudson's Budget Billing option is designed to help you by spreading those costs more evenly throughout the year.

With Budget Billing, your monthly energy bill payments are expected to be uniform for 11 months, based on your usage history. The bill for the 12th month in your Budget Billing cycle will include a plus-or-minus adjustment to reflect your actual usage and energy prices for the past year.
