If you know your Central Hudson account number you can also choose to pay online by checking account or by credit card without logging in. However, the billing and payment information provided will be limited to your payment due date and amount due when choosing these methods. Detailed billing, payment and energy usage information is only available when logged in. A third-party payment agent charges a $2.95 fee for residential and $7.95 for non-residential card payments. There is no additional fee for online checking account payments. Card payments cannot exceed $5,000 per residential account or $10,000 per non residential account within a 26-day rolling period.

Automated phone system

To make a checking account payment by phone:
Call 845-452-2700, or if calling from outside the 845 area code only, call us toll free at 1-800-527-2714. Press 3 on the first menu, then press 2 on the next menu. Be sure to have your Central Hudson account number and bank account information available.

To make a credit/debit card payment by phone:
Call 1-888-909-4634. Be aware that a third-party payment processing agent charges a $2.95 convenience fee for all residential credit and debit card payments and $7.95 for all non-residential card payments. Central Hudson does not benefit from this charge. Also, card payments cannot exceed $5,000 per residential account or $10,000 per non-residential account within a 26-day rolling period.

Budget Billing

To avoid the seasonal unpredictability of energy bills that can be caused by hot or cold weather extremes, Budget Billing spreads your electric and natural gas bill payments evenly over 12 months (rather than our usual every-other-month billing plan.) Your monthly budget payments will be uniform for 11 months, based on your usage history. The bill for the 12th month will include a plus-or-minus adjustment to reflect the actual usage and price for the year.

Time-of-Use Billing

Time-of-Use is an optional billing method for residential customers to purchase their electricity based on when the actual use of electricity occurs. Time-of-Use pricing charges customers lower prices for electricity used during periods of low overall electric demand (off-peak hours) and higher prices during periods of higher electric demand (on-peak hours). By shifting the consumption of electricity to periods of lower demand by, for example, using appliances or recharging electric cars during off-peak hours, customers can take advantage of lower-cost energy. It's important, however, to adequately shift power use to off-peak periods to avoid higher charges and save money. For more information on Time-of-Use Billing click here
