Vice President - Corporate Communication & Community Relations

Area of Responsibility:

 

CH Energy Group, Inc and Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

1.      At the direction of the Executive Vice President, The President of Central Hudson or the CEO and in consultation with the other Officers, will provide organizational leadership in and management of all publically released communications regarding CH Energy Group or any of its subsidiary companies. 

2.      Assure that the corporation creates and maintains a positive corporate image, maintains professional and positive relations with political officials and community leaders, and effectively represents its interests with governmental bodies whose actions could influence the CH Energy Group or its subsidiaries, and that Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. conducts an effective marketing program.

3.      Oversee the development, recommendation, and promotion of comprehensive public relations strategy. Act as the corporation’s Chief Spokesperson or manages such activity when delegated.

4.      Provide executive leadership to the Company’s governmental affairs, economic development, and marketing operations to enhance strategic, operational and business missions.

5.      Oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of the corporate communications department, including public relations (including public disclosure requirements and the Annual Meeting of Shareholders), media relations, advertising, graphic development, shareholder communications (including the Annual Report to Shareholders), Web site, video production, Speakers Bureau, educational services and employee Newsletter.

6.      Act as the Company's primary community relations representative, distributes community-event sponsorship, administers the Company's Employee Matching Gift Program, and oversees outreach such as the Speakers Bureau and educational services program to support the business plan.

7.      Guide the Corporation's involvement in the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation and leads the effort to attract new businesses to the region through economic development incentives and outreach (in order to increase utility revenues).

8.      Administer the Company's Political Action Committee (PAC) funds to foster appropriate governmental affairs relationships; maintains strong working relationships with Hudson Valley's elected delegation in order to facilitate positive legislative and constituent relations. Serves as Central Hudson's representative on the Administrative Committee of the Energy Association of the State of New York.

9.      Oversee the Company's Marketing programs for value-added products and services, including new service installations, leasing programs, municipal street lighting, and relationships with key trade allies.

10.  Develop plans to improve efficiency and employee productivity in all areas of responsibility.

11.  Serve as chairman of the Customer Quality and the Public Safety committees.

12.  Serve as a member of the Disclosure Committee.
