Family Contribution / Operations: Operates and maintains electric and gas
transmission and distribution systems.
This includes electric lines between generating stations, substations,
and consumers, requiring use of precautionary work methods and safety equipment
due to electrical hazards present when working on or near energized conductors
and electrical accessories. Also
includes gas pipelines between gate stations, regulator stations and consumers
requiring precautionary work methods and safety equipment due to hazards
present when working on pressurized and potentially explosive systems.
Individual Contribution: In support of the Company Mission and Family Contribution;
Plan, schedule,
coordinateMaintain around-the-clock accountability and responsibility for and
provide general supervision of the personnel responsible for the 24X7 operation
and control of the electric and gas Transmission systems and the 24X7
dispatch function, including;
the operation of the Control Center; and the System Dispatch
Center. Maintain an operational
environment with a strict adherence to a “0” tolerance for error policy.schedule
the production, purchase and sale of electric energy and schedule the purchase
and production of gas e Continuously seek
out and evaluate, recommend and oversee implementation of quality
and process improvement opportunities for these operations. changes in energy
control computer facilities;Ensure that all System Operations personnel receive
the necessary training and certification/qualification to maintain
proficiency and operational excellence in accordance with Central Hudson, NYISO
(New York Independent System Operator), NPCC (North East Power Coordinating
Council), NERC (North American Electric Reliability Council), NGA (Northeast
Gas Association), and DOT (Department of Transportation) rules and
guidelines. Coordinate with other groups throughout Central
Hudson such as Customer Services and Engineering, neighboring Transmission
Owners, and
the NYISO to ensure the highest standards and expectations of operational
performance, efficiencies, and safety are maintained. Coordinate with these groups to prepare for and/or respond to abnormal
conditions such as storms to ensure the highest level of system performance,
reliability, and security are maintained on a 24X7 basis. Ensure that communication of system conditions and
significant events throughout the organization and to Regulatory Agencies is
conducted timely and accurately. Participate in and represent
Central Hudson in various NYISO and NGA committees.
NY Transmission
Owner committees and represent Central Hudson in proceedings at the Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission related to electric transmission.
