Family Contribution /
Engineering & Science: In support of the
Corporate Mission; Provides, participates and/or assists in research and
analysis encompassing primarily one or more of the following engineering
disciplines: electrical, mechanical, civil, and/or environmental. Conducts analytical studies on engineering
proposals to develop designs utilizing and applying engineering principles,
research data, and proposed system specifications. Analyzes data to determine feasibility of project proposals. Prepares or directs preparations of system
layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
Directs and coordinates building of prototype systems. Plans and develops experimental test
programs. Evaluates engineering test
results for possible application to development of systems or other use. May determine sources and methods of
controlling pollutants in air, water, and soil, utilizing knowledge of
engineering principles and applied technologies.
Individual
Contribution: In support of the Corporate Mission and
Family Contribution;
Plan, schedule,
coordinate, and provide general supervision for all functions relating to the
preparation of system electric transmission, substation, and distribution
engineering development designs, specifications, and system performance
analysis, including the application of protective relay systems and devices to
ensure adequate and reliable electric energy transfers while simultaneously
maximizing the safety of operation and minimizing damage to plant in-service;
to achieve maximum economy in the expenditure of company funds consistent with
Company standards of safety, with quality and reliability of service, with
sound operating practices, and with due concern for facility environmental
constraints and impact on the public. Assist in developing designs for future
generating resources. Plan, develop, and recommend for approval changes in
Engineering Group policies, procedures, and methods in regard to: electric
system design and protection standards, criteria, and guidelines; electric
project engineering; economic and efficient system and facility operation;
innovative design and construction practices and techniques; material designs
and specifications. Plan, recommend for approval, and provide general
supervision for the education and training of all employees assigned to the
division to maintain the highest level of motivation, technical excellence, and
professional development. Exercise maximum discretion and independent judgment
in making decisions and in taking actions of a non-routine nature.
