Family Contribution / Marketing & Sales: In support of the Corporate Mission; Responsible for the planning and implementation of projects that support the marketing function. Work individually or with a team in recommending action, scheduling and planning projects, estimating cost and managing projects to completion. May identify, evaluate and recommend marketing opportunities consistent with product line objectives, provide pre- and post-sale marketing support to distributors, OEMs and resellers, and support public relations through researching, writing, and editing press releases.
Individual Contribution: In
support of the Company Mission and Family Contribution; Perform duties
that provide reliable, low cost natural gas supplies. This requires the planning, negotiation, evaluating, procuring
and managing of natural gas transport, supply and storage contracts. Perform
general administration of load forecasting and analysis of fundamental natural
gas market dynamics to supply short and long-term natural gas resources to meet
native load requirements.
Possess knowledge of physical and financial natural gas and natural gas derivative products, pricing essentials and wholesale markets utilizing a continuous analysis of pricing trends that ensures proper position hedging and risk management. Originate, structure, negotiate and schedule wholesale natural gas term deals. Meet the projected daily gas requirements by adding gas from other resources and/or soliciting and purchasing additional gas or if long by selling and/or moving excess gas into storage. Coordinate and monitor the interaction of the operation of local electric generation with Central Hudson's gas transmission system to insure system reliability and to obtain maximum value. Keep abreast of trends in competing energy markets to facilitate the use of gas. Maintain a thorough understanding of the Natural Gas utility industry and regulatory requirements of all agencies affecting gas supply issues. Monitor and assess billing accuracy of short and long term transactions. Assist in the preparation of budgets and studies as they relate to the gas function. Capable of working extensively with other departments within the Corporation, while developing and maintaining outside industry contacts, meeting federal, state and regulatory agencies requirements and participating in the planning of regional market changes that encourage retail competition.
Solicit and procure kerosene and propane as required for the reliable
operation of the Company Plants that they fuel. Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills;
self motivated, independent worker who needs minimal supervision, broad
industry knowledge, experience working in a team environment, comfortable with
managing a wide-variety and number of projects and deadlines, demonstrated
creativity, innovation and flexibility.
