Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Propose
and recommend to the CEO and Board of Directors the strategic direction
of the fuel oil business unit and its role in meeting overall corporate
objectives.
- As a
member of the Senior Management Team, participate with other members of
the Senior Management Team and add value, through active participation,
to corporate deliberations and decision making across all business
units. Participate in and add
value, through active participation, to certain Board Committee meetings
and all Board meetings and strategic planning retreats.
- At
the strategic level and through the President of Griffith, develop plans
to improve earnings and cash flow of Griffith, increase competitive
advantage and market share, and mitigate earnings volatility and
operational risks.
- Through
the President of Griffith, monitor execution of plans, evaluate
performance and respond quickly and effectively to changing customer
behavior, actions of competitors and changing market conditions.
- Through
the Vice President – Human Resources, evaluate the labor resources
necessary for Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. to execute
corporate strategy and business plans, and put in place human resource
policies and systems that will attract, retain and motivate employees at
a level that promotes superior performance and creates competitive
advantage. Assure a positive
culture that recognizes and rewards attributes and behaviors that are
consistent with long-term organizational success. Assure effective administration of
the corporate ethics and legal compliance program. Assume effective safety programs and
practices.
- Through
the President of Griffith, evaluate the labor resources necessary for
Griffith to execute corporate strategy and business plans, and put in
place human resource policies and systems that will attract, retain and
motivate employees at a level that promotes superior performance and
creates competitive advantage.
Assure a positive culture that recognizes and rewards attributes
and behaviors that are consistent with long-term organizational
success. Assure effective
administration of the corporate ethics and legal compliance program.
- Through
the Manager – IT, assure that the corporation employs information
technology that supports and enhances customer service, financial
reporting, performance measurement, productivity improvement, decision
making and overall corporate performance. Assure all IT systems are developed in close coordination
with user groups and executives responsible for operations, especially
the President and Chief Operating Officer of Central Hudson Gas &
Electric Corp. and the President of Griffith.
- Through
the Vice President – Corporate Communications & Community Relations,
assure that the corporation creates and maintains a positive corporate
image, maintains professional and positive relations with government
officials and community leaders, and effectively represents its
interests with governmental bodies whose actions could influence CH
Energy Group or its subsidiaries, and that Central Hudson Gas &
Electric Corp. conducts an effective marketing program and economic
development program.
- Oversee
the effective provision of other corporate services, including
transportation, purchasing and stores, and buildings and grounds. Assure these services meet the needs
of the operational groups they support, and work closely with the
President and Chief Operating Officer of Central Hudson Gas &
Electric Corp. to assure that result.
- Attract
and retain high quality executives to fulfill key positions within
Griffith and corporate service roles and place special emphasis on
executive development and succession.
- Serve
on the Board of Directors of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp.
- Serve
on the Board of Directors of Central Hudson Enterprises Corp.
