Central Hudson’s 2011 United Way workplace campaign raised $376,000 in employee contributions and matching shareholder funds to support agencies and programs throughout the company’s service area.
"The generosity demonstrated
by employees over the past two years
has been tremendous,” said Alison Michaels,
Central Hudson Director of Labor Relations and Chair
of the 2011 Central Hudson Employee
United Way Campaign.
“Every United Way Employee
Campaign is a collective effort and
in the end, our hard work pays off
in a big way for the communities we
serve.”
In addition to the fundraising efforts, Central Hudson employees participated in several United Way "Day of Caring" events, doing hands-on work to benefit various nonprofit organizations. The 2011 campaign also included a company-wide food drive to benefit the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
“This
year’s campaign took place between two of the
worst storms in our company's history,”
said Jill Sammon, Assistant Campaign Chair and Central Hudson's Director of
Special Services.
“Regardless, the generosity
exhibited by employees
and the amount of
help offered by so many made the
campaign a huge success.”
