High Winds Bring About Electric Service Interruptions
As of noon today, an estimated 8,400 Central Hudson customers are reported without power due to high winds following this morning’s rainstorms. Outages peaked at 18,000 as of 11 a.m. this morning, caused by falling trees and limbs onto power lines. Service interruptions are scattered throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley, concentrated primarily in Dutchess County, as follows:
Crews are addressing the more than 140 damage locations to make repairs and restore service. Due to the continued high winds forecasted throughout the day, additional service interruptions may be reported as repairs are made. Customers are encouraged to report their power condition by calling Central Hudson’s automated PowerLine at (845) 452-2700 or 1-800-527-2714. Customers with computer access may also view an on-line outage map and report their power condition by logging onto www.CentralHudson.com/StormCentral.html.
